Charla: Dra. Elisabeth Lex - Know-Center (Austria)
After a short introduction of the Know-Center, Austria's Competence Center for Knowledge Management and Knowledge Technologies, and a short introduction into the WIQ-EI project, this presentation outlines fundamental concepts of Information Quality.
Also, it is addressed how the topic Information Quality is embedded in the fields of Information Retrieval and Data Mining.
At the Know-Center, Information Quality has been assessed in a specific application domain, namely the media domain consisting of traditional news articles, Online news, and social media. By means of selected results, in this presentation is shown how Information Quality can be assessed in this
domain.
The presentation concludes with the most important findings and with an outlook on possible directions for future work.
